The Vagina Monologues Open Mic Night
Sunday, November 17th from 6pm-8pm
Athentic Brewing Company (108 Park Ave, Athens, GA 30601)
If your Vagina could talk, what would it say?
We invite all those who identify as women (cisgender, transgender, fluid/non-binary identities, etc.) to come share their own stories, poems, songs, or monologues! This event is to honor The Vagina Monologues, a play written by V (formerly Even Ensler) in 1996. The monologues in the play were based off real life experiences of women from all over the world and now we want to honor each of you in our community by providing a space for you to share your story in your own way!
Event is free and open to the public
No experience is needed
All creative expression welcome through monologues, poems, story telling, song, dance, etc.
The Cottage currently produces The Vagina Monologues each February as a fundraiser event. We invite all participants in the open mic to submit their piece to be considered as the Spotlight Monologue for The Vagina Monologues annual performance from February 6th-8th, 2025 at the Winterville Auditorium. Details on submission will be shared at the Open Mic.
If you’re interested in being in The Vagina Monologues, we will be hosting auditions this December 2024!
